- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, salt, and baking powder.
3. Add softened butter to the dry mixture and beat using an electric mixer until it becomes smooth and creamy. Add eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition.
4. Mix in vanilla extract and continue beating until the dough comes together.
5. Remove the bowl from the mixer and fold in strawberries, being careful not to overmix.
6. Pour the dough into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.
7. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the torte comes out clean.
8. While the torte is baking, prepare the topping. In a small saucepan, combine granulated sugar and melted butter. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves.
9. Remove the torte from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
10. Brush the warm caramel sauce all over the top of the torte and let it cool completely.
11. Once the torte is cold, sprinkle dark chocolate shavings on top for garnish.
