Ingredients

  • - 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs for the crust
  • - 2 tablespoons of butter or melted shortening for the crust
  • - 2 pounds of fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • - 2/3 cup of granulated sugar for the filling
  • - 1/4 cup of cornstarch for the filling
  • - 1/8 teaspoon of salt for the filling
  • - 1/2 cup of heavy cream or sour cream for the filling
  • - 1 egg for the crust and filling
  • - 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for the filling
  • - Fresh strawberries and whipped cream, for garnish (optional)
