Easy Wonton Soup Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 package of wonton wrappers
- 2 cups of chicken broth
- 1 cup of chopped cabbage
- ½ cup of sliced green onions
- ¼ cup of grated ginger
- 3 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked noodles for serving
Instructions:
1. In a pot, bring chicken broth to a boil.
2. While waiting for the broth to boil, prepare the filling for the wontons. Mix cabbage, green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper in a bowl until well combined.
3. Lay out a wonton wrapper on a flat surface.
4. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of filling onto the center of the wonton wrapper.
5. Fold the wrapper over the filling, pleating the edges to seal it. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
6. Once the broth has finished boiling, lower the filled wontons into the pot.
7. Cook for 3-5 minutes or until the wontings float on top of the water.
8. Serve hot with cooked noodles.
Tips:
- Use store-bought wonton wrappers to save time and effort.
- You can also use pre-cut cabbage and green onions for convenience.
- Add shredded chicken or pork for extra protein if desired.
- Adjust the seasoning to taste based on personal preferences.
- Garnish with chopped scallions, sesame seeds, or fresh herbs for added flavor and color.
